In a dialogue with the UCundinamarca News Agency, Dr. Gloria Isabel García Ballén, administrative director of the Chía Extension, provided an overview of the 2025 administrative and academic management, and shared the projections, challenges, and goals for 2026.

Institutional consolidation, the strengthening of the bond with the territory, and strategic projection based on quality, efficiency, and regional articulation are highlighted.

UCundinamarca News Agency (ANUC): What is the general balance of the administrative management in the Chía Extension during the year 2025?

Gloria Isabel García Ballén (GIGB):  In 2025, we managed to sustain and consolidate institutional operations, optimizing financial resources and strengthening the bond with the university community, in a context of leadership transition.

We are advancing in coordination with territorial stakeholders such as the Mayor's Office of Chía, promoting long-term agreements. We also presented results in academic, social, and infrastructure management, increasing the University's visibility in the Sabana Centro region.

ANUC: What other relevant achievements marked 2025?

GIGB:  We consolidate our connection with the territory through social impact projects, strengthening rural entrepreneurship, academic innovation, and the design of research and outreach initiatives with a regional focus.

In addition, we expanded the academic offerings and promoted collaborative learning spaces in coordination with municipal and regional entities. At the same time, we strengthened the administrative management that supports these processes and made progress in technical preparation for future accreditation and quality challenges.

ANUC: Looking ahead to 2026, what administrative strategies are planned to optimize processes and respond to the needs of the university community?

GIGB:  By 2026, we project to strengthen institutional planning, operational efficiency, and the integration of academic and administrative processes based on our Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT).

We will promote self-assessment and high-quality accreditation, consolidate agreements with territorial entities, and strengthen alliances with public high schools in the municipality, especially through the Transition to Higher Education Project, benefiting 10th and 11th-grade students interested in beginning their educational process at UCundinamarca.

We will also prioritize science, technology, and innovation initiatives that respond to the needs of the university community and contribute to regional development.

The Chía Extension continues to consolidate itself as a strategic player in Sabana Centro, Cundinamarca, articulating efficient administrative management, academic quality, and territorial commitment.

With a clear roadmap for 2026, the institution reaffirms its purpose of transforming lives and territories through higher education.
