Objective

Establish standard operating procedures in the event of earthquakes.

General public

IF YOU ARE ON THE PREMISES AND AN EARTHQUAKE OCCURS, YOU MUST:

 

  • Wait for the earthquake to end, never try to go outside during the event.
  • Seek shelter under desks, tables, or sturdy structures, and remain there until the movement stops.
  • Move away from large windows, tall shelving units, lamps, or any other element that is suspended or could fall.
  • Protect your head and neck with your hands.
  • Prepare to evacuate in the event of an alarm signal; do not return under any circumstances.

 

PAY ATTENTION TO THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE EMERGENCY BRIGADE AND/OR SUPPORT GROUPS.

Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator:

Determine the appropriate time to order an evacuation if necessary.

 

Emergency brigade

 

Brigade coordinator:

  • Report to the Emergency Director details of structural damage, presence of victims, and the particular development of the emergency in your sector.
  • Assign functions and roles to the emergency brigade according to the type of emergency.

Evacuation group:

  • They coordinate the evacuation process to the assembly point if necessary.

Fire suppression system:

  • Immediately shut off electricity, gas, and fuel supplies to all types of equipment and machinery
  • Apply the fire protocol

First aid group:

  • First aid is provided if needed.
  • They support the search and rescue process.

Evacuation group:

  • Evacuation Plan Brought Forward.
  • Firefighting group support.

Search and rescue team:

  • Search and rescue plan underway.
  • First Aid group support.
