Through process optimization, audits, and a customer focus, the QMS promotes a culture of quality, accountability, and constant improvement at every level of the institution.

“Currently, the University of Cundinamarca is certified under the Colombian Technical Standard ISO 9001:2015, which was renewed in December 2023 for 3 more years until December 2026.

It is a vote of confidence from the certifying body, which, through this certificate, reaffirms the institution’s commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of the university community through its quality management system.

Similarly, the company is working to implement the Environmental Management System in accordance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard and applicable environmental legal requirements, the occupational health and safety management system in accordance with ISO 45001:2018 and Decree 1072 of 2015, information security in accordance with ISO 27001:2013 and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies” Information Security and Privacy Model (MSPI), as well as the Family-Responsible Company Model – MEFP. Through the university’s social responsibility initiative—a system that, in coordination with other institutional processes, has already earned the institution recognitions such as the Certificate in Social Responsibility, the Seal of an Organization Committed to Biosafety, and the Seal for conducting a Carbon Footprint Assessment— Documented information on the management systems can be found at the following link: www.ucundinamarca.edu.co/sgc. Access the “Strategic Master Process and Integrated Systems” section. There you will find each of the management systems. This is subject to inspection and oversight by the Ministry of National Education.”.

“Following the visit by the certifying body, the external audit process for the 2024 period was completed, with the University of Cundinamarca receiving a high rating.”.

At the conclusion of the audit and review, we achieved an outstanding result, highlighting senior management’s commitment to maintaining and implementing the quality management system, as well as the system’s evolution over the past three years, during which it has successfully adapted to and exceeded the needs and expectations of our stakeholders.

Also worth noting is the integration of the Quality Management System into the various processes, teamwork—where continuous improvement was evident, supported by the use of information technology—as well as the implementation of the latest version of the risk management methodology from the Administrative Department of the Civil Service, which enables a preventive approach to the operation of our processes. Through this, the University of Cundinamarca has demonstrated that we are committed to the continuous improvement of the institution’s performance and the maturity of our quality management system, which enables us to achieve increasingly better results and resolve nonconformities.

As the 2024 period progresses, the results achieved have enabled the University of Cundinamarca to strengthen and maintain its certification under the Colombian technical standard ISO 9001:2015, which positions the institution among internationally recognized organizations, with this standard in place; it also serves as a vote of confidence from the certifying body, confirming that the University of Cundinamarca is committed to offering ever-improving products and services to the university community.

The challenges for 2025 include consolidating performance evaluation through indicators and continuing to integrate the Environmental Management System, Occupational Health and Safety System, Information Security System, and Anti-Bribery Management System.
"As well as aligning these management models with the self-assessment and accreditation model and implementing a digital tool for process modeling and management in the Business Process Management Suite (BPMS).".

The University of Cundinamarca is hosting a visit from the certification body ICONTEC regarding its Quality Management System under the Colombian Technical Standard ISO 9001:2015; It is important to note that this is an institutional certification, as its scope covers the main campus, branch campuses, extension campuses, and the Bogotá office, as well as the core functions of all UCundinamarca’s schools and programs.

We especially appreciate the support received from senior management through their leadership in maintaining the management system, as it makes it possible to achieve this recognition and vote of confidence from the certifying body.

Congratulations to Ucundinamarca GS21!
