What is High-Quality Accreditation?

Accreditation is the recognition of high quality granted by the Ministry of National Education to academic programs and institutions that meet the highest quality criteria and fulfill their purposes and objectives, taking into account their legal nature, identity, mission, typology, training levels, and delivery modes.

High-quality accreditation promotes the strengthening of a high-quality culture in academic programs and institutions, which is supported by internal quality assurance systems. Evaluation for the purpose of high-quality accreditation is carried out by:

High-Quality Accreditation Objectives

We promote academic excellence and continuous improvement as a reflection of the University of Cundinamarca's commitment to high-quality education.

Develop a set of benchmarks and indicators that enable the actors of the National Accreditation System to advance quality assurance processes in a global, regional, and local context.

Encourage processes of good institutional governance in such a way that they allow institutions to maintain continuity, sustainability, and transparency in quality assurance during the transition between the renewal of qualified registration and high-quality accreditation.

Promote the construction and consolidation of communities under conditions comparable to high-quality international and national institutions.

Foster the culture of self-regulation, accountability, self-assessment, and continuous improvement of institutions and academic programs in order to achieve high levels of quality, supported by their internal quality assurance systems.

Encourage the development of research, innovation, creation, and technological incorporation in institutional work, in such a way that it can contribute to addressing the social and productive demands of the Colombian environment.

Support institutions and academic programs in strengthening the culture of high quality, especially those that have not achieved high-quality accreditation.

Increase national and international confidence in institutions and academic programs that embrace high quality and their activities of generation, social appropriation and dissemination of knowledge, as well as extension, outreach, and social interaction.

To be an instrument through which the Colombian State gives public faith of the high quality of institutions and academic programs, in the context of the global dynamics of higher education, and which embraces the diversity of institutions as a value of the Colombian higher education system, for the purpose of effectively promoting regionalization, equity, inclusion, and inter- and multiculturality.

Promote the comprehensiveness and articulation of training, academic, teaching, scientific, cultural, and extension work, in such a way as to allow the academic community to develop qualified and skilled transformation processes.

Promote a culture of high quality that evidences principles and understands institutional diversity through a sustained commitment to continuous improvement, contributing to the strengthening of the social and academic role of higher education.
