By: Alejandro García Suárez – Advisory Office of Communications

Translocal management forums are meetings with the community and citizens that allow the presentation of results regarding investments, training, research, and student well-being at the regional units of the University of Cundinamarca. This August 28th, it was the turn of the Zipaquirá extension.

In an interview with the UCundinamarca News Agency, Dr. Carlos Augusto Trujillo Padilla, administrative director of the Zipaquirá Extension (FA), presented a summary of the academic and administrative achievements attained during the year 2023.

The results reflect the implementation of both administrative and educational strategies. The progress achieved through science, technology, and research was addressed, with a focus on university interaction. The support of the academic support unit and the collaboration of the student welfare and admissions team were also valued, as they enabled the university to meet the challenges presented.

Among the achievements, the official emphasized the importance of continuing to work on redefining the Music program. He also mentioned the significant progress in the construction of the new building, which is expected to be available to the community by the end of the next fiscal year. In the area of research, he highlighted the results obtained by the research group and the student research groups associated with the Music program.

Regarding administrative matters, the director emphasized the ongoing focus on training and learning, encompassing both incoming and outgoing mobility related to research projects. He also mentioned the extension program's prominent participation in the 2024 Book Fair at Corferias, where faculty publications and a commemorative book celebrating the program's 20th anniversary in Zipaquirá were presented.

In the financial sphere, Trujillo Padilla highlighted the achievements obtained in the 2023 budget execution, emphasizing the creation of a fund for investment and operation in the Zipaquirá and Chía extensions, with an execution that exceeded 85% of the allocated resources.

Finally, he highlighted the importance of recognizing those officials who have distinguished themselves through their commitment to transparency and good institutional practices, in compliance with university policies.
