With the aim of making academic production visible in scientific exchange spaces, the Nursing program of the Girardot branch represented UCundinamarca at the FIKA LIV 2026 International Congress, held in Bucaramanga on September 10 and 11.
The event, convened by the School of Health Sciences (ECISA) of UNAD, served as a meeting point for the academic community to discuss the contemporary challenges of care and health.
The University's participation was led by Rafael Leonardo Cortés Lugo, Knowledge and Learning Manager of the program, who presented the paper “Beyond the placebo: what hypnosis reveals about body, perception and well-being”. Her presentation connected neuroscience and health sciences to delve deeper into the relationship between perception, bodily experience, and overall well-being.
According to Rafael Leonardo Cortés Lugo, FIKA LIV 2026 was a forum for reflecting on care from ethical, social, and technological perspectives, integrating topics such as innovation, digital humanism, well-being, and the transformation of health-related services and processes. “Beyond the academic presentation, this participation allowed us to represent the Nursing Program and the Faculty of Health Sciences in a setting that brought together professors, researchers, and academic communities connected to the health sciences,” he explained.
For the Manager, the experience also allowed him to share a transdisciplinary perspective and recognize the importance of integrating different fields of knowledge to understand phenomena related to perception, bodily experiences, and human responses.
In this sense, the meeting opened a dialogue between Nursing, psychology, neuroscience and hypnosis, around topics such as the relationship between mind, body, perception and well-being.
Connections that can become new opportunities
One of the outcomes of this participation was the establishment of contacts with faculty and participants from other higher education institutions. These new connections can facilitate the development of future collaborative academic meetings, mirror classrooms, conferences, and other exchange strategies. “These initiatives would allow Opportunity Creators and Knowledge and Learning Managers from the Nursing Program to interact with other institutions, share experiences, and build learning spaces,” Cortés Lugo noted.
Topics related to care, mental health, neuroscience, perception, and well-being are part of the possibilities for dialogue that can continue to develop from these academic links.
Likewise, participation in FIKA LIV 2026 constitutes a contribution to the academic activities of the TATAMASALUD group, by registering attendance and participation in a scenario that contributes to the strengthening of the research, training and knowledge circulation processes of the Nursing Program.
Knowledge that transcends the classroom
The presence of UCundinamarca in these types of scenarios demonstrates how the participation of Knowledge and Learning Managers allows connecting academic processes with other university communities and with contemporary discussions in the health sciences.
This experience is also aligned with the purpose of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT) to transcend the traditional limits of the classroom, promote dialogue between different fields of knowledge, and strengthen the University's interaction with diverse actors and contexts.
Participating in events like FIKA LIV 2026 means sharing what is learned and researched at UCundinamarca, but also listening to other perspectives, creating connections and opening up possibilities for new learning and cooperation experiences.
From the Girardot branch, the Nursing Program continues to bring knowledge to new scenarios to dialogue, connect knowledge and contribute to the transformation of social and educational realities.
