With 46 medals and a prominent fourth place overall, the UCundinamarca Club upheld the institution's name in Melgar, Tolima.

Effort, discipline, and a passion for sports led the UCundinamarca Club to stand out at the 2026 Cafam Melgar Swimming Festival, held on May 23 in Melgar, Tolima, where it achieved an outstanding participation against delegations from different regions of the country.
The institutional representation, made up of 25 athletes from the Academic Sports Center (CAD), competed in the Initiation, Minors A and B, and Children's A and B categories, demonstrating an excellent competitive level and confirming the growth of the training process promoted by the University of Cundinamarca through sport.
Thanks to the swimmers' commitment and the constant support of their coaching staff, the delegation achieved an extraordinary balance of 14 gold, 13 silver, and 19 bronze medals, for a total of 46 medals, a result that allowed them to place fourth in the event's overall standings.
Anyi Lorena Colmenares Galeano, coach of the team, highlighted the dedication and perseverance of the athletes, noting that each achievement is a reflection of hours of training, consistency, and teamwork. “The commitment shown by our swimmers demonstrates the effort they make day by day to push their own limits and represent the University of Cundinamarca with pride,” she expressed.
The festival brought together clubs and athletes from different regions of the country, consolidating itself as an important setting to strengthen competitive skills, share experiences, and promote the participants' athletic growth. These results reaffirm the importance of the sports training spaces promoted by the institution, which contribute to well-being, comprehensive development, and the acquisition of skills that transcend the competitive arenas.
With each participation, the University of Cundinamarca continues to strengthen a sports culture that drives talent, promotes healthy lifestyle habits, and transforms lives through sports, leaving a mark inside and outside the pools.
