The talent, discipline, and commitment of the UCundinamarca athletes once again stood out at the Mesitas Cup and Festival 2026, held in the municipality of Mesitas del Colegio, Cundinamarca, where two swimming teams from the Institution obtained a total of 52 medals, consolidating an outstanding participation against clubs from different municipalities of the country.

On August 1st, 12 swimmers represented the UCundinamarca Club in the Initiation, Minors A and B, and Children's A and B categories. Under the direction of coach Lisbeth Nallibe Rincón Cuéllar, the team achieved an excellent balance of 15 gold medals, 12 silver and 7 bronze, for a total of 34 medals.

The coach highlighted the athletes' effort and dedication during the competition. "Our swimmers demonstrated their talent, discipline, and commitment in every event. These results reflect their constant work and motivate us to continue training with the same dedication to face new sporting challenges," stated Lisbeth Nallibe Rincón Cuéllar.

The competition brought together 381 athletes from 22 clubs from different regions of the country, becoming a high-level competitive stage for the new generations of Colombian swimming.

The University's good performance continued on August 2, when another group of 11 athletes, led by head coach Anyi Lorena Colmenares Galeano, participated in the Minors A and B, Children A and B, Youth A and B, Junior, Seniors and Master categories.

On this day, the delegation obtained 18 medals, distributed in 6 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze, results that allowed it to be placed in seventh place in the general classification among the 22 participating clubs, in an event that brought together 282 athletes.

In addition to the outstanding number of medals, swimmer Isabel Ortiz achieved the best technical mark in the 50-meter freestyle event, becoming one of the most outstanding performances of the championship.

For Anyi Lorena Colmenares Galeano, these results reflect the team's commitment to athletic excellence. "I congratulate each of our swimmers for their dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit. Beyond the medals, this championship demonstrates that teamwork and perseverance allow us to achieve increasingly important goals," the coach stated.

Participation in the Mesitas Cup and the 2026 Festival confirms the growth of swimming at the CAD Academic Sports Center and the institutional commitment to the comprehensive training of its athletes, who continue to uphold the name of the Institution in regional and national settings.
