Teachers and students from Girardot contribute to the PD.

On February 20, 90 professors from different areas of knowledge and 274 students from the Business Administration program and students from the Tourism and Hotel Management Technology program at the Girardot branch met to continue building the 2020-2023 Development Plan together. Among the contributions they made were the creation of the Happiness Chair and the Emotional Intelligence course, improved support for research and student research groups, and the coordination of research projects with the productive and business sector of the Upper Magdalena region, among others.

“This participatory exercise with professors as knowledge managers and students is a productive space because each contribution is relevant to strengthening the academy and what it comprises: research, university welfare, infrastructure, internationalization, among other mission fronts outlined in the rector's plan,”, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, the rector, explained.

Likewise, the senior executive called for an education that transcends as a shared responsibility between the institution, the educational community, and the National Government: “Our challenge is to materialize the Transmodern Digital Educational Model, because MEDIT largely solves the mission needs that the institution currently demands, as well as making a quality education a reality, a fundamental right set forth in our National Constitution,” he emphasized.

These are some of the contributions made by the teachers during the day:

-Manage agreements with the mayor's office, departmental and national government so that the university, through its disciplinary teachers, contributes to the policies, development plans and projects that shape local and regional development.
