In the foundational management of Extension, the legalization and consolidation of the ownership of the property ceded by the municipality of Zipaquirá stands out during the 2018 term, through deed No. 2384 of December 15, 2016, which comprises a total of 4,051 square meters.
Similarly, Contract No. FCTC 108 of 2018, in the amount of $542.711,400, the purpose of which is to produce the designs for the new campus that will house the Music program and two additional degree programs, which will begin operations at the Santiago Pérez School in the municipality while construction of the new campus is completed.
It is worth noting that the Music program is participating as a technical partner in the design of the new Zipaquirá Extension campus, which will feature auditoriums, rehearsal rooms, and a recording studio, among other facilities. Similarly, the Department is working on projects to acquire specialized instruments and equipment totaling more than $300 million pesos, as well as to equip the digital lab at a cost of $170 million pesos.
Regarding the academic area, the National Accreditation Council concluded that the Music program meets the initial conditions to begin the Self-Assessment process for Accreditation purposes. In this context, the curriculum is being resignified to determine the relevance of the emphasis within the curriculum based on musical creation regarding performance, composition, conducting, and production.
In the field of Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation, Colciencias recognized the Udecarte Group and granted it a C rating in the categorization. Currently, there are 150 products for the generation of new knowledge, social appropriation of knowledge, and training for human resources.
The Udecarte group is made up of 12 affiliated researchers, two of whom are recognized as junior researchers and peer evaluators by Colciencias, who are developing six projects institutionally endorsed by internal research calls of the University.
For its part, the SEINMUS Research Incubator has the involvement of 22 students who participate in the development of research projects alongside the program's research professors. Evidently, the strengthening of academia and research has been one of the pillars in this Extension.
