Translocal Sectional Forum Girardot

The translocal forums concluded with the accountability report of the Girardot Sectional. Administrative and academic management presented to the educational community and the general public the investment projects developed during the 2016–2019 term, training and learning management, science, technology, and research management, university interaction management, university well-being management, academic support management, and 2020 progress regarding measures taken in response to the health emergency. 

In the management report, the executives highlighted the increase in the Pro-Udec Stamp tax rate from 0.5% to 1%, These funds were allocated and used for investments in the maintenance, expansion, and modernization of the physical campus, as well as the modernization of technological infrastructure, the virtual platform, communications, digitization, online education, scientific research, and a special program for academic and student scholarships. 

“The technology infrastructure project—including fiber optics, structured cabling, Wi-Fi, and connectivity—worth $ 3,709,000,000, improved access to information systems and network connectivity in terms of response times and information retrieval for the development of group and individual training and learning,” said Sandra Carmona, coordinator of the Nursing program at the branch.

Results  

- Progress on the ISO 14001:2015 certification project, installation of recycling stations, implementation of a photovoltaic solar system, 114 solar panels, planting of 5,054 trees, recovery of green areas, water conservation policy and project, acquisition of a solid waste shredder to generate compost. 

-The research groups: Experimental learning, los Acacios, Tatamsalud, Ambiental guía, were categorized as C. Three researchers in the junior category, one associate researcher, and one senior. 

-In the social production of knowledge, the Sectional, through its academic programs in Business Administration, Environmental Engineering, Nursing, Hotel and Tourism Management Technology, and Bachelor's Degree in Basic Education with an emphasis in Spanish Language and English Humanities, obtained 456 products. 

-Management of corporate resources totaling $ 102,201,272 

-Implementation of an LED lighting system in common, sports, and parking areas. 

-Acquisition of computer equipment and printers for administrative and academic management. 

-Implementation of projects of institutional interest: “Utilization of by-products and solid waste from domestic and productive activities in the municipality of Girardot,” with the purpose of generating an economic development model oriented toward the circular economy for the city. 

The construction project of the new and modern 500-seat auditorium was equipped with technological equipment.
