Translocal Forum, Chía Branch

Over the past four years, the Chía Extension Campus has increasingly established itself as a university campus dedicated to service-learning for the province of Sabana Centro, thanks to improvements in the educational quality of its undergraduate and graduate academic programs. Consequently, during the Translocal Forum held by the campus, the event began by highlighting the most important aspects of administrative management and noting that, for the 2016–2019 period, investment projects were carried out for furniture, office renovations, technology equipment, maintenance equipment, and vehicles, totaling $ 2,250,714,730.

“At the academic and research level, the balance is positive; the academic units of the Extension show a total of 841 products in Science, Technology, and Innovation and the generation of new knowledge, 26 articles published in indexed journals, 104 participations in national events and 57 in international ones, and the categorization of professors and research groups in Colciencias, among other important progress, highlighted Juan Carlos Torres Sandoval, administrative director of the Chía Extension.

The following are the highlights presented during the Translocal Forum:

-The research groups S@r@ categorized in B, Nanoengineering group categorized in C, Dopys group categorized in C, research professors categorized from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences including one associate researcher, five junior researchers, one senior researcher, and in the Faculty of Engineering an associate researcher and a junior researcher stand out.

During this period, the Business Administration program underwent a renewal of its qualified registration and curriculum resignification.

-The Public Accounting program began the process of curriculum renewal and renewal of qualified registration.

-Implementation of the Environmental Management System oriented toward ISO 14001:2015 certification.

-Start of the adoption process for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

-Design, adaptation, and furniture for administrative area and classroom offices.

-Upgrading electrical grid for computer centers and laboratories, and cabling for computer rooms.

- Provision of the vehicle fleet (bus).

-Improvement of free and green areas.

- Implementation of the road safety plan, parking lot demarcation.

- Energy saving awareness campaign

-Implementation of new IP telephony software.

-Implementation of the Information Security Management System.

-Renewal of the subscription to the IEELIET collection, and virtual renewal of the McGraw-Hill publishing house.

-Renewal of technical support and expansion of Matlas software license.

-Acquisition of interactive screens and strengthening of the virtual library.
