Recycling

With the active participation of the student community, the third edition of the Recyclathon took place from October 3rd to 8th during Ingeambiental Week. It should be noted that this initiative is part of the Sustainable University Campus project.

Each semester, the event aims to educate and raise awareness of environmental values within the university community, fostering a culture of recycling and demonstrating the commitment to continuous improvement at the University of Cundinamarca, showcasing the institution's quality as a trainer and educator in environmental values.

During the activity, participants were encouraged and taught how to properly separate solid waste at the source. All types of recyclable materials were collected, including cardboard, paper, bottle caps, cans, aluminum, and plastic, among others.

This event yielded 650 kg, 268 kg more than the previous event, which only collected 382.8 kg. The proceeds from the sales totaled 200,000 pesos, which were distributed as prizes between the two groups of 40 participants.

The administrative management of the Girardot branch congratulates the winners and sponsors Agua Tropical, Repuestos Molimotos and Empresa de Servicios Públicos Ser Ambiental, while also encouraging and inviting them to continue working for good sustainable practices.
