The Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Political Sciences, through the Music program, carried out the second version of the cultural learning field “Serenata por Cundinamarca: for the defense of life through musical expressions that vindicate democratic values and civility”, in the extensions of Chocontá, Soacha and Facatativá, Girardot Section and Fusagasugá Headquarters.
It is important to highlight that the expected result of the Serenata por Cundinamarca is framed within the institutional methodology of the Learning Fields, for which it was intended to transform musical experiences into experiences that promote the defense of life through participation in concerts and artistic expressions carried out with the learning community of the University of Cundinamarca and valued through digital narratives.
The Serenata por Cundinamarca cultural learning camp will continue next year and will have a Learning Community that will interact over time.
“This was an opportunity to live countless personal and collective experiences through sound, interaction and active participation in the “Serenade for Cundinamarca” with the ultimate goal of achieving learning that guarantees healthy coexistence and the rescue of musical and artistic cultural values in each place of the department visited throughout the second half of 2018,”, Darwin Andrés Díaz, dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Political Science, stated
The closing of the “Serenade for Cundinamarca” took place at the Fusagasugá Headquarters, Emilio Sierra Baquero auditorium with the performance by the Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of the Music program, with the work Mass in D Major OP.86, by the author Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904).
The Mass in D Major OP.86 is based on a harmonic richness under a liturgical context that expresses the worship of God and is characterized by a lyrical meditation integrated into seven parts: Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei.
It is worth highlighting that the development of the Cultural Learning Field aimed to interact with the participating public in order to facilitate learning about music and its roots in life. To this end, a stage performance of the work was presented, led by the musician Aldubar Salazar, under the direction of Maestro Oscar Vargas of the Symphony Orchestra, comprised of 40 musicians, and a Choir made up of 50 singers, a soprano (Karen Duque), a mezzo-soprano (Jenny Arango), a tenor (Juan Camilo Martínez), and a baritone (Marco Meléndez).
In the city of Acacias, at the Cultural Theater, the people of Girardot enjoyed the Serenade for Cundinamarca with the presentation of the Cely brothers, National King of the Requinto and Camilo Ortiz, a Udecino graduate artist, who sang ballads from the 70s and 80s.
The Cely Triana Brothers offered the Girardot public different expressions of Colombian instrumental music with their plucked strings and typical and native instruments from Boyacá and Santander such as the tiple and the requinto.
