On March 30th, at the Ubaté branch, the EFAD (School of Teacher Training and Learning) took over the facilities with the sole purpose of publicizing and highlighting the innovative teaching methodologies of the UDEC professors, the knowledge managers of our alma mater.
With the participation of more than 70 people, including faculty, administrative staff, directors, and the rector, Dr. Adriano Muñoz Barrera, the meeting was held in the Alberto Urdaneta auditorium, where teachers shared their innovative experiences. It is worth noting that many of these experiences were related to the use of technological tools during the pandemic.
“Today is a time to congratulate our teachers, those teachers who have participated repeatedly in these activities that allow us to improve performance and consolidate day by day the aspiration of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model, MEDIT, for their boldness to transform and reinvent themselves,” said Dr. Muñoz Barrera.
The winner of first place for best innovative teaching project was Johana Gil, a Business Administration teacher from the Ubaté branch, with the initiative called Developing Talent for Global Challenges, a project that seeks to generate and share experiences and skills with the use of technological tools, among people for the development of labor and research entrepreneurship.
“It was an international bootcam, which are intensive programs in a practical learning environment with real-world work situations, where participants learn about global challenges and discover experiences from different types of business ventures around the world. This was a project we started before the pandemic, and to be able to carry it out, we also had to reinvent ourselves, enabling students to experience this practical training from their homes,” said teacher Johana Gil.
However, Professor Gil emphasized that this was a collaborative effort with all the professors in the Business Administration program, led by Professors Daniel Cortés and Paola Rodríguez. It's worth noting that the project is part of the faculty's Cultural Learning Field.
The first five innovative projects were recognized. Second place went to teacher Jaime Gutiérrez from Fusagasugá with his Math Club project; third place went to teacher Luis Rincón, also from Fusagasugá, with the Sumapaz Connection initiative; fourth place was awarded to teacher Darío Benavides from Girardot with the Digital Tourism Integration project; and finally, fifth place went to teacher Luis Navia from Soacha with the Playing to Win project.
For its part, EFAD stated that “the objective of the activity is to achieve a transformation of our knowledge managers, because this is not a competition, this is a learning community where the actors who participate in it learn from each other with a specific orientation, where knowledge and good practices are generated with original and translocal processes,” said the EFAD coordinator, Francisco Conejo.
Similarly, and in the middle of the event, EFAD presented the new use of technological platforms and tools for teachers in order to achieve more dynamic and proactive classes.
