Strengthening tax culture

UCundinamarca and DIAN provide free tax assistance in Fusagasugá, supporting the community with procedures and tax guidance.

The University of Cundinamarca, in partnership with the National Directorate of Taxes and Customs (DIAN), is strengthening its commitment to the region through the Fiscal Support Centers (NAF), a strategy that offers free tax advisory services to the community.

Fiscal Support Centers (NAF) are an initiative promoted by DIAN in conjunction with higher education institutions, which seeks to bring tax services closer to the citizenry. Through these spaces, previously trained students provide basic guidance and support on tax issues, promoting a tax culture and facilitating access to State services.

This space not only benefits citizens, but also becomes a practical learning scenario for students of the Public Accounting program, who, alongside Knowledge and Learning Managers, consolidate their competencies.

According to Jaimili Jairo Penagos Rodríguez, leader of the agreement and Knowledge and Learning Manager for Accounting, the initiative makes it possible to provide free guidance to the public on procedures such as RUT registration and updating, generation of electronic signatures, income tax returns for individuals, inquiries regarding tax responsibilities, and the use of DIAN's digital services.

The process is supported by DIAN Citizen Service officials who, working in coordination with senior-level students and professors, provide close, clear, and reliable service. This synergy strengthens academic training while positively impacting the community.

Interested parties can access this free service Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 m., in Block E, room 207 of the University of Cundinamarca, Fusagasugá campus, or on Thursdays at the DIAN service point, located in the Secretariat of Economic Development, at the Pueblito Fusagasugueño.

With this initiative, UCundinamarca reaffirms its role as an institution that connects knowledge with the real needs of the environment, promoting a tax culture and access to fundamental services for citizens, at no cost.
