The institution continues to consolidate its impact in the region. In a dialogue with the UCundinamarca News Agency, Engineer Jesús Enrique Pabón Quintero, Administrative Director of the Soacha Extension, presented the management report for 2025, highlighting progress in education, research, and University Social Interaction, as well as the challenges and strategic commitments that will shape the year 2026.

UCundinamarca News Agency (ANUC): If you had to tell us about three moments that summarize the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT) within the administrative management of the Soacha Extension during 2025, which ones would you highlight and why?

Jesús Enrique Pabón Quintero (JEPQ):   From the MEDIT, we have progressed on three fundamental fronts. The first is training and learning, with the opening of new programs such as Public Accounting and the strengthening of qualified registries in engineering. The second is University Social Interaction, where we are consolidating the learning field with entrepreneurs, articulating results with the Environmental Management System. And the third is research, strengthening interdisciplinary projects among the different Extension programs, which has allowed us to work in a coordinated manner with other faculties.

ANUC: Beyond the usual indicators, what administrative and academic achievements filled you with pride in 2025 and reflect a real impact on the educational community?

JEPQ: Without a doubt, one of the most important milestones was the delivery of the lot and the signing of the deeds, which allow us to plan a new, modern infrastructure for the Soacha Extension. This achievement supports a projection of nearly 4,000 students, strengthens the work with the Ministry of National Education, and positions the University of Cundinamarca as a key player in the educational development of the municipality of Soacha.

ANUC: Looking ahead to 2026, what administrative strategies will be essential to optimize processes and better respond to the needs of the university community?

JEPQ: 2026 will be a year of joint work. We will continue strengthening coordination with knowledge and learning managers, students, and administrative staff. Our main commitment will be the opening of a new campus through modular construction, along with the expansion of our academic offerings, which will allow us to respond to the high demand for higher education in Soacha and advance in coverage and quality.

ANUC: What other strategic bets do you consider essential for the Soacha Extension to continue transforming lives and territory?

JEPQ: Soacha has enormous business, technological, social, and environmental potential. Through the MEDIT, we seek to strengthen these opportunities across every academic program, including engineering, administrative sciences, and sports sciences. In addition, we are committed to research and technology projects, taking advantage of the rise of emerging technologies, a strategic line that will play a leading role in 2026 for Soacha Extension. With management aligned with the Transmodern Digital Educational Model, Soacha Extension is moving forward with a vision for the future, strengthening its presence in the region and consolidating itself as an engine of social, academic, and regional transformation.
