Within the framework of the Saber Pro tests, soon to be presented by students in the final semesters of the Higher Education Institutions of the Country, the School of Teacher Training and Learning -EFAD S21- organized and coordinated the First Learning Marathon 2020 which took place on October 16, 2020 with the participation of the Nursing programs and the Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, from the Faculties of Health Sciences and Education, respectively.
In this marathon, participants tested their knowledge through different challenges in a virtual race of tests in 21st Century Citizenship, Quantitative Reasoning, Critical Reading and English, in which more than 160 guests participated, including students, professors and administrative staff of UCundinamarca.
This event began with remarks from the Academic Vice-Rector, María Eulalia Buenahora, and the Director of the Siglo 21 School of Teacher Training and Learning, Víctor Hugo Londoño Aguirre. The day was then divided into two large synchronous sessions: one for students to practice Saber Pro tests and another aimed at teacher training, with the challenge: Evidence-Based Assessment.
For the student space, tests were organized around S21 Citizenship, Quantitative Reasoning, Critical Reading and English, all of them supported and mediated by technology in their development, allowing us to diagnose the competencies of our students in each of the challenges, in order to make the best formative decisions in order to enhance the learning of our future professionals as people who generate a society with democratic values, civility and freedom, a person prepared for life.
In turn, the teachers received training on Evidence-Based Assessment, where they were able to test their knowledge and assessment designs, always with a formative approach focused on the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT) and the Expected Learning Outcomes (REA). Afterwards, they gained firsthand experience with the English and 21st-century Citizenship assessments, essential for understanding the dynamics we seek in our students as transmodern individuals, and the curricular reflection surrounding MEDIT and the EFAD S21 training proposal for supporting Learning Plans in the Learning Areas.
Finally, this training and experiential space proved to be an excellent setting for sharing lessons learned and recognizing strengths and opportunities that help us contribute to improving the quality of our University of Cundinamarca. It is worth noting that a second edition of the 2020 Learning Marathon is being planned for mid-November, where the progress and management of learning by the students who participated in the first Marathon can be compared with the results obtained through various leveling sessions and the support provided by EFAD S21 in recent weeks.
