First graduating class of Master's Degree in Education

UCundinamarca graduated 45 master's students, 45 specialists and 1,151 professionals with comprehensive skills at the Fusagasugá Campus, Girardot and Ubaté Branches, and the Facatativá, Chía, Soacha and Zipaquirá Extensions.

After two years of research, in-depth study of alternative, participatory and creative pedagogical and didactic proposals, and theoretical and conceptual strengthening of training and learning models, the University of Cundinamarca is proud to congratulate the first 45 graduates of the Master's in Education, with an emphasis on Environmental Education and Social Networks.

It is worth noting that the graduation of these 45 master's degree holders coincides with the celebration of our institution's 50th anniversary. This was highlighted by Academic Vice-Rector Pablo Emilio Flórez Vargas in his address at the graduation ceremony. “Today, on its 50th anniversary, the University of Cundinamarca reaffirms the quality educational service it offers to the region, the department, and the world, fulfilling its mission and contributing to society.”.

The Master's in Education is based on the association of five theoretical pillars: Pedagogical Mediation, Ecological Paradigm, Sustainability and Development; Sociocultural Perspective; Social Polygraphy; and Ecopedagogy for coexistence. The program currently has 81 active students.

This recognition represents the commitment of senior management, the postgraduate studies department, the self-evaluation and accreditation team, the academic development team, and other academic units comprised of staff and faculty, all of whom contribute to the university's mission and the improvement of educational quality. The university hopes that this postgraduate degree will be the starting point for achieving the institutional goals outlined in the university's strategic and strategic plans.

In the first half of 2019, UCundinamarca graduated approximately 1,241 professionals, who from today onwards will be protagonists in this new chapter in the history of Colombia and Cundinamarca.

“Today our Institution seeks an individual who, in addition to achieving personal development, becomes a transformative agent who contributes significantly to their environment, society, and nature. This commitment is based on the Transmodern Digital Educational Model, an initiative that aims to move beyond professionalizing models that transmit knowledge and information, in order to educate for being, for life, democratic values, civility, and freedom.”, highlighted Aura Esther Álvarez Lara, dean of the Faculty of Education.

Furthermore, following the national strike of students at Public Universities, the academic calendar within the University was modified, and for this semester two graduation ceremonies were held during this month of March, at the Fusagasugá Campus, the Girardot and Ubaté Branches and the Facatativá, Chía, Soacha and Zipaquirá Extensions.
