Ecorural Festival in Ubaté

From May 3rd to 4th, the first Ecorural Festival will be held in the main square of Ubaté, organized by the Social Projection of the UCundinamarca with the participation of the academic community and businessmen of the municipality, whose purpose is to promote the care of the environment as well as propose alternatives to have a better quality of life from the transformation of products such as quinoa, blueberries and meat, among others.

For Judith Castiblanco, a teacher who leads the Social Outreach office in Ubaté, this gathering of students, teachers, local residents, and business owners helps mitigate environmental impact, raise awareness, and foster care for the Earth. “Our goal is to empower our students to create their own environmentally friendly businesses.”.

For his part, Luis Eduardo Sánchez, coordinator of the Animal Science program at UCundinamarca, said that this fair seeks to integrate the entire university community with the productive sector in order to achieve sustainable development processes that conserve the environment.

In this sense, UCundinamarca promotes collaborative work among different sectors of society with the purpose of contributing to the transformation of the quality of life of man.
