Human rights: part of professional training?

“The results I can mention are historic because they mark a milestone at the University of Cundinamarca, for example, free tuition for all our students at a time of social and health emergency in the world,” highlighted Dr. Adriano Muñoz Barrera, Rector of the Institution, in the accountability report for the 2020 fiscal year of UCundinamarca, which took place on June 8, 2021.
He also highlighted the approval of the 2020-2023 Development Plan, which sets the institution's roadmap for the next four years, the call to recruit seven teachers to the institution, the approval of the contracting process for the construction of the Zipaquirá Extension headquarters, among others.
“I thank the students, teachers, administrators and staff who made it possible for the University to become visible during the COVID-19 pandemic and who, in the end, made it possible for teamwork to be effective in achieving the results obtained,” the rector added.
“The efforts of the Institutional Planning Office were focused on resource management through the Institutional Strengthening Plan, a document composed of eight chapters, which detail the internal context and project, over three years, investments directly related to the institutional strategies,” explained Dr. José Correa Alfonso, Director of Institutional Planning.
For her part, Dr. María Eulalia Buenahora Ochoa, Academic Vice-Rector, highlighted the work being done through Self-Evaluation and Accreditation, the strengthening of cultural learning fields, disciplinary learning fields, the implementation of the university welfare policy, the graduate observatory, the redefinition of the curriculum, and the internationalization of programs.
Regarding the administrative area, the Vice-Rector for Administration and Finance, Myriam Lucia Sánchez, explained the various projects being carried out in the healthy work environment, physical development and modernization of the infrastructure, as well as the development of the austerity plan and the rationalization of spending.
“Working from home wasn’t easy, but everyone’s commitment made it possible to continue meeting the Institution’s objectives,” said Dr. Sánchez.
In turn, the Secretary General, Dr. Isabel Quintero Uribe, highlighted the renewal of the Nursing program's accreditation, the approval of the disciplinary code for staff, and other actions taken by the governing bodies. "The implementation of the MEDIT program has also been a significant achievement, as has the approval of virtual degrees and incentives for the best results on the Saber Pro and Saber TyT exams," Dr. Quintero emphasized.
Other notable achievements include the university's progress in the area of information security and the adoption of improvement plans for the different processes.
Finally, the institution committed to providing answers to the attendees and participants on June 26, 2021, to the questions that could not be answered during the live session broadcast on the Facebook social network, which took place from 8 am to 12 pm on June 8.
