The News Agency of the University of Cundinamarca, in order to learn about the balance, results and activities of the first academic semester of the Ubaté branch, interviewed the administrative director, Dr. Johanna Andrea Gil Palacios, who told us how she implemented the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT) and the challenges for the second academic period.
UCundinamarca News Agency (ANUC) What is the balance of the first semester?
Johanna Andrea Gil: Very satisfactory, the Ubaté Branch achieved a passive execution of 92% in terms of investment projects and 56% in operating expenses.
ANUC: What experiences did you develop in the first semester to achieve the goals?
Johanna Andrea GilIn accordance with the Institutional Action Plan, we developed experiential activities to promote austerity campaigns and disseminate information about projects in different areas. The branch's Facebook page featured 372 posts with timely and updated information.
Regarding the implementation and monitoring of the Cultural Learning Field "Sowing Hope", a transmedia deliverable was developed and the survey "Gastronomic Traditions and Zero Hunger" was carried out in the 10 municipalities of the province of Ubaté.
We developed the branch's business and marketing plan, presenting our service portfolio and offerings to mayors' offices, schools, and businesses. We also attended various university fairs in the region.
To promote translocal culture, we developed 24 activities with students, Knowledge and Learning Managers, workers and administrative staff.
ANUC How has the branch been implementing the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT)?
Johanna Andrea GilWe embraced it in every one of the daily activities we carry out at our branch. During the first semester, we implemented it in the orientation day for first-semester students. We also used it in the working groups for developing the development plan with knowledge managers, administrative staff, and students from the branch. Furthermore, we incorporated it into the activities of academic programs and in 24 Student Welfare activities, always encouraging the university community to use technology.
ANUC: What are the challenges for the second semester of the academic year?
Johanna Andrea GilThe main challenge is to fulfill each of the activities in the Institutional Action Plan, where we will continue to implement austerity campaigns and promote our programs and projects. Regarding the Cultural Learning Area, we will continue to explore and delve deeper into the gastronomic traditions and the Zero Hunger initiative in the Ubaté region.
