Addressing risk with responsibility and coordination

At the Fusagasugá campus, the Ubaté and Girardot branches, and the Soacha, Facatativá, Chía, and Zipaquirá extensions, the emergency response team and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHS) team carried out the evacuation during the earthquake that occurred at midday on August 17, 2023. As expected, this type of event frightens the community, but in compliance with protocols, the university community was evacuated from classrooms and offices. It was also determined that there were no accidents, injuries, or damage to property or infrastructure.

It is worth noting that the institution implements and adheres to the Emergency Plan, adopting appropriate protocols and efficiently utilizing all available resources for emergency management. UCundinamarca is aware of the inherent risks, taking into account external factors that may generate hazardous situations, and therefore proposes to implement the necessary actions for the protection and safety of its staff, students, visitors, and other stakeholders.

Since resources are not the same in all regional units, the Technical Data Sheets of the Emergency Plans can be identified, which can be found in the Digital Operation Model, in the Strategic Macroprocess, Integrated Systems, Occupational Safety and Health, where resources and names of brigade members can be located. https://www.ucundinamarca.edu.co/sgc/index.php/macroproceso-estrategico/proceso-gestion-sistemas-integrados/sgsst

We invite you to consult and take ownership of the Comprehensive disaster risk management plan and emergency prevention, preparedness and response ESG-SST-PL01 in which the different threatening situations, both internal and external, are related, taking into account their characteristics and possible impact.

Let's not lower our guard; we are all responsible for reducing the impacts and effects on the natural environment!
