2,100 people participated in health week

Under the motto "it's not for crazy people, it's for everyone" the University Welfare Directorate held a successful health week at the university institution.

Mental health encompasses a wide range of activities directly or indirectly related to the mental well-being component included in the World Health Organization's (WHO) definition of health: "A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." This year, the WHO urged schools to create healthy environments for student well-being. In accordance with this guideline, the University of Cundinamarca joined the initiative with the aim of promoting mental health as a state of well-being through stress management related to work and/or academic activities.

These activities took place at each of the university's branches, extensions, and main campus, with the participation of 2,100 people, including administrative staff, students, and faculty. "The Office of University Welfare carried out various recreational and team-building activities to improve the quality of life of its community, creating pleasant spaces for each member of the institution to prevent future physical and mental illnesses that could affect our university community," highlighted Luisa Domínguez, a nurse at UCundinamarca.

This is how the participation went:

Ubaté Sectional: 395 people

Facatativá Extension 373 people

Girardot Branch: 374 people

Zipaquirá Extension: 268 people

Chia extension: 325 people.

Fusagasugá Campus: 365 people.

Among the activities to highlight were the "Abrazatón" (Hug-a-thon), which raised awareness among the university community about the importance and benefits of hugging; a sensory stimulation activity to help people discover their feelings through their senses; an emotions bazaar to connect with emotions or mandalas to help control them; laughter yoga to learn to breathe and generate self-discovery; karaoke and a cultural moonlit gathering; a film forum; and others.
