Welcome to the second semester!

Today, 12,953 students, creators of opportunities, resumed classes, continuing their academic journey prepared to face new challenges and thus advance in achieving their dreams.

Dr. Adriano Muñoz Barrera, the institution's rector, invited students to become "transhuman beings" with a vision that seeks to transcend limitations, transform weaknesses into strengths, and live in harmony with the environment—a fundamental pillar of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT). The rector also emphasized the commitment to excellence, announcing that the National Accreditation Council (CNA) will visit various regional units to review the institutional conditions of the programs in pursuit of High-Quality Accreditation.

The deans of the faculties also shared their welcome and the major challenges for the 2025-2 semester. The Dean of Engineering, Javier Hernando Gracia Gil, highlighted the filing of the High Quality Accreditation for several Systems and Industrial Engineering programs, and the development of new undergraduate programs in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

For her part, the dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, María Nancy Garzón Soche, highlighted the imminent external evaluation visit for the Nursing program in Girardot and the renewal of the qualified registration for Psychology in the Facatativá extension, with an expansion to Zipaquirá.

From the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Dean John Alexander Moreno Sandoval shared the formulation of a doctorate in Smart and Sustainable Agriculture and extended the invitation to the Equine Festival, a bovine and ovine-caprine exhibition that will be held in the 2025 version for the month of November at the Fusagasugá headquarters.

Finally, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Accounting, Miguel Alejandro Flechas Montaño, invited students to experience the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT) and to actively participate in the High-Quality Accreditation process for the Business Administration and Public Accounting programs. He also highlighted that “this second academic period will feature the eighth edition of Expo UCundinamarca, an enriching experience for our entrepreneurial students and graduates.”.

The enthusiasm was also evident in the students' voices. Heidi Helena González López, from the Business Administration program, expressed her joy and confidence: "It's like returning to the classroom, resuming our studies, being present again in such an important and renowned institution.".

The University of Cundinamarca welcomes all its students, inviting them to be part of this educational journey that seeks to be formative and transformative for their lives and for society.
