The University began 2019 with good news. The Ministry of National Education granted the initial conditions for the accreditation of the academic programs in Electronic Engineering, Music, and Animal Science; a development that reaffirms the leadership of the faculty, students, and administrators in this process, allowing them to continue progressing toward accreditation.

In science, technology and innovation, the University participated in Colciencias' call for proposals 829, winning a grant of 1.5 billion pesos; the Higher Council approved the intellectual property statute, the editorial board and the 21st Century Teacher Training and Learning School.

“Furthermore, the University continues to respond to challenges; once again, the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards (ICONTEC) awarded the University of Cundinamarca the certification of the Integrated Quality Management System (SIG) under the ISO 9001:2015 standard, and together we managed to get the Cundinamarca Assembly to support us by increasing the percentage of the pro-development stamp from 0.5% to 1.5%,”, Muñoz Barrera added.

Finally, the rector of UCundinamarca urged the institutional and educational community to continue working on the rector's plan in projects such as the curricular redefinition of academic programs, the self-evaluation and accreditation process, and the holding of teaching competitions for career professors.

“Let us unite to request the Cundinamarca Department Assembly to increase the UCundinamarca budget base by 10 billion pesos to carry out the teaching competition, in order to access institutional accreditation. We have the obligation and the commitment to continue promoting initiatives and strategies for the improvement of current quality conditions.”, stated the rector of our institution.
