The University of Cundinamarca welcomed new students through the Welcome to University Life program, an institutional strategy that supports the entry of those who begin their professional training in the first semester of 2026.

During this experience, students from different regional units toured the University facilities and participated in orientation and meeting spaces, accompanied by a team of professionals committed to guiding them in a process that will be full of challenges, learning and opportunities for the construction of their life project.

According to the Admissions and Registration Office, as of February 4, 2026, 1,884 new students were enrolled, distributed as follows: Chía (348), Facatativá (373), Soacha (338), Zipaquirá (20), Girardot (198), Ubaté (181) and Fusagasugá (426).

These sessions were attended by the rector, deans, and knowledge and learning managers, who shared key information to facilitate the transition to university life. In this context, Rector Adriano Muñoz Barrera presented the foundations of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT), which proposes a break with traditional education by promoting the shift from critical thinking to analytical thinking, as a basis for addressing complex problems and strengthening lifelong learning, democratic values, civic responsibility, and freedom.

“We welcome the students of the 2026-1 period to a Transmodern and Translocal University, which receives them with open arms to build from dialogue, difference and commitment to learning for life,” said the rector.

For her part, Dr. María Margarita Moya González, Director of University Welfare, highlighted that the Welcome to University Life is the students' first approach to MEDIT, under the Learning Field methodology, strengthening the sense of belonging, cohesion and training for life from the beginning of academic life at UCundinamarca.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Javier Gracia Gil, pointed out that this experience reflects an educational model centered on being, and invited the students to adopt the Transhuman Person Declaration as a guide for their personal and social transformation throughout their educational process.

From the student perspective, Leonardo Tamayo, from the Agronomic Engineering program, highlighted that the reception was an innovative and different experience than expected, while Lauren Junco, a Zootechnics student, valued the organization and the learning methodologies that strengthen principles and values.

In turn, Santiago Rojas, an Electronic Engineering student, expressed his expectations of developing not only academically, but also as a person and a citizen.

The Welcome to University Life program was developed in the different regional units between January 23 and February 6, 2026, consolidating itself as a fundamental space to start the academic path at UCundinamarca.
