By: Alejandro García Suárez – Advisory Office of Communications

Engineer José Fernando Sotelo Cubillos, Knowledge Manager for the Software Engineering program at the Soacha campus, reported on the progress in developing a web portal for the quantitative analysis of ICFES SABER 11 test results in the municipality of Soacha. The portal aims to provide educational institutions and the community with a more intuitive and accessible visualization of test results, in order to identify areas for improvement. It also addresses educational challenges in Soacha, including resource scarcity, school dropout rates, and the need for accurate information to tackle these issues.

Sotelo Cubillos explained that the project is distinguished by its use of agile methodologies such as SCRUM and XP, along with technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, XAMPP, and Microsoft Power BI for the portal's development. The website aims to facilitate informed decision-making to improve students' academic performance and address relevant educational issues in the municipality.

It is worth noting that the portal's development is based on data collection and analysis, the appropriate selection of visual tools, the use of advanced web technologies, and the rigorous application of agile methodologies for project management. Additionally, exhaustive testing is carried out to ensure the portal's quality and usability.
