This activity, which is part of the Open and Clear Accountability strategy and will take place on April 25 in Fusagasugá, created a space for social control so that students, teachers and administrative staff could ask about the management of public resources invested in 2021.
In his presentation, Dr. Gil commented on the Soacha extension's achievement of the institutional quality accreditation for seven years. "This means we are meeting internal and external guidelines, and for that I want to express my gratitude to the directors and all the staff who helped us achieve this."“
He also emphasized the contractual process aimed at optimizing internet connectivity, for which an investment of 2.3 billion pesos was made. “With this, we will improve the entire fiber optic and cabling infrastructure of the campus. This will bring benefits to the service in areas such as the library, Building C, the administrative offices, the laboratories, and the auditorium, covering the institution's 60%. We signed the commencement agreement last February and allocated an additional 3.2 billion pesos for the second phase.”.
Continuing with the improvements to the physical plant, Dr. Gil stated that “the pedestrian walkways were improved, the appropriate markings were made, and the circulation of the spaces was enhanced. We are also going to update the building where the computer lab is located. There is an option to have a three-story building with the possibility of housing up to seven computer labs and all the necessary occupational health and wellness facilities.”.
Regarding the sustainable development point, he showed how the extension has been implementing it. “We have developed a solar panel project, which we will expand this year, and we already have the resources for it.”.
He also said that his administration took advantage of the pandemic period to repair desks and purchase microwaves. “2,300 were repaired, ten ovens were purchased, and the spaces where they were placed were adapted.”.
Regarding the expansion of academic offerings, he stated that the software engineering program has already received approval from the Ministry of National Education and will begin this year. He also confirmed that the process is underway to obtain accreditation for the business administration and accounting programs, with the aim of completing the site visit this year, receiving approval, and offering them in 2023. He further announced that they are working on finalizing all the necessary documentation to submit to the Ministry for the geomatics engineering program, which has been requested by the community.
Regarding management systems, he emphasized that occupational health, environmental protection, information security, and workplace health are very important to the branch. "We carried out various activities to raise awareness about these issues within our community.".
Regarding the austerity of spending, he commented that a reduction in the use of paper, water, and electricity was achieved, and tree planting processes were expedited.
Finally, he noted that “the action plan achieved 96% in meeting the stated goals.”
