We celebrated Zootechnician's Day at UAA El Tibar

The University of Cundinamarca praised the work of Zootechnicians for the use of domestic and wild animals, through different recreational activities carried out in the Agro-environmental Unit (UAA) El Tibar of the Ubaté branch.

Although the day is officially commemorated on June 22, the Curriculum Committee of the program, its coordinator José Andrés Tabla and the Knowledge and Learning Managers team of this discipline decided to bring forward this celebration to highlight its impact and contribution to the development of the rural economy during the academic period.

Through various recreational activities, the future animal scientists participated in different challenges related to their profession, which they had to overcome by navigating various obstacles. Santiago Pachón Ruiz, a first-semester student in the Animal Science program, remarked, “I find today’s activity very interesting because it allows us to connect with students from other semesters, make friends, and have a pleasant day.”.

The purpose of this strategy was to pay tribute to the work of animal scientists and the training process provided to them at the University of Cundinamarca, in academic spaces such as the El Tibar Agro-environmental Unit, considered an open-air laboratory of the Ubaté branch.

“This is a space where students from all semesters interact; it’s a time to release stress for both students and knowledge managers. This is a comprehensive education for life where not only academics are part of this component, but also the organizational and recreational aspects for our students,” pointed out José Andrés Tabla, Coordinator of the Animal Science program.

Finally, these types of experiences allow students to become familiar from the first semesters with the guidelines of the MEDIT Transmodern Digital Educational Model, which are based on highlighting the development of the human being to train excellent professionals.
