The objective of this virtual industrial exhibition is to promote entrepreneurship among students of the Industrial Engineering program, Soacha extension; and it arose from a classroom project developed during the IPA 2019 in the thematic core of Industrial Processes, under the direction of the teacher Engineer Nicolás Ramírez Castillo, belonging to this Engineering program.
For this exhibition, the students designed various products using recyclable materials recovered from other industrial processes, exploring concepts of circular economy, clean production, and green and reverse logistics. The goal is for all the products to be commercially available after the exhibition.
“The project aims to strengthen entrepreneurship among students, emphasizing that professional training is not only about guiding academic processes to produce graduates who swell the ranks of professionals seeking employment in the labor market, but also about generating new productive units to create new jobs; in other words, that young professionals go out and find workers, not just jobs,” stated Professor Nicolás Ramírez Castillo.
This third edition of the industrial exhibition will be presented virtually, given the global health emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is important to note that all the preparation for this was done virtually by the students (Teams), and the products were made in the homes of some of the participating students.
