The University of Cundinamarca, as a local public institution of the 21st century, characterized as a democratic, autonomous, and educational social organization of knowledge, and an agent of transmodernity, will be sponsored in its institutional accreditation process by the National University of Colombia, which, in the exercise of its university mission, promotes equitable access to the Colombian educational system and fosters the training of competent and socially responsible professionals, contributing to the development and redefinition of the nation's project, in the study and enrichment of the country's cultural, natural, and environmental heritage.
Given that quality is generated from the processes of teaching and learning, research and innovation, and university interaction, our institution will have the guidance of one of the best universities in Latin America to continue the effort towards institutional accreditation, so that the University of Cundinamarca, the only university in the Department, is recognized for its quality, at the local, regional and national levels, as a generator of relevant and pertinent knowledge, focused on the care of life, nature, the environment, humanity and coexistence.
This process began on April 1st, with a meeting between the rectors of both institutions at the National University, which was also attended by the Academic Vice-Rector of the University of Cundinamarca, and the research directors of both educational centers, in order to present the work proposal to seek the possibility of an alliance.
On April 6th, the second meeting between the directors of the two institutions took place at the High-Performance Center of the University of Cundinamarca (CERCUN). During the meeting, the strengths and weaknesses of the project were discussed in order to begin providing timely support. Attendees emphasized the progress that the merger of these two academies will bring.
The alliance will be formalized in the coming days with the signing of the agreement that will lead these two universities to work hand in hand to improve, strengthen and obtain accreditation for the University of Cundinamarca, Generation 21.
