“The “Experience University with ICT” workshop fostered social interaction with schools in the province, enhancing knowledge within vocational secondary education institutions. It also created spaces for building knowledge in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), promoting learning through real-life case studies.”, highlighted Engineer Ana Lucia Hurtado Mesa, coordinator of the Systems Engineering program, Ubaté branch.
The workshop, led by the Systems Engineering program, Ubaté branch, had the participation of 230 eleventh grade students from educational institutions in the Province of Ubaté.
The academic activity included ten workshops, each lasting 40 minutes, which were led by teachers and shared by students of the program.
The topics covered in the workshops were: Matlab, a practical tool for teaching mathematics; Develop your first website in PHP and HTML; Augmented reality modeling; Algorithms and video games for beginners; Origami and solids of revolution; Goldberg machines; Dangers on social media; Turing machines; Applied robotics; and ICT in the accounting field. This last workshop was supported by students and faculty from the Public Accounting program.
