It is important to note that the QS World University Rankings is an international ranking published annually by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which evaluates more than 1,500 universities worldwide with the aim of measuring the global and regional quality of higher education institutions.
The QS ranking assesses the overall quality of universities in terms of reputation, research, employability, and internationalization. Since 2024, it has included additional indicators such as sustainability and employment outcomes. The following table shows the indicators and how they are measured:

Some eligibility and inclusion criteria are also established, which are:
Eligibility: To be eligible for the World University Rankings, an institution must:
Inclusion: To be included in the World University Rankings, an institution must:
The QS Latin America and Caribbean 2025 ranking included 492 universities, 67 of which are Colombian, and the University of Cundinamarca is one of the six new institutions that entered this year. The 2025 ranking, for the 2026 edition, marked the first time the University of Cundinamarca appeared in the ranking. It was placed in the 401+ bracket (i.e., outside the top 400, but included in the regional list). Its inclusion is primarily due to the impact of its scientific articles. The assessments were as follows:

The above is partly justified by what was identified in 2025, where the H-index (or Hirsch index) was calculated by Advisor Angela Jaramillo, which is a metric used to measure the scientific impact of researchers, combining productivity (number of publications) and relevance (number of citations) and was 11. The data used for the analysis of the institutional H-index were the following:
Based on the above, it can be concluded that:
Finally, it should be noted that, according to the QS reports page, a table is presented with some of the main universities in the country, for the 2026 edition, published on October 1, 2025:

Likewise, the AD Scientific Index, also known as the Academic Ranking of World Universities or AD Scientific Index, is a platform that evaluates and ranks academic and research institutions worldwide.
This index is based on metrics related to the productivity, impact, and collaboration of researchers and their institutions, considering aspects such as scientific publications, citations received, h-index, and other indicators of academic and research performance.
