Contributing to guaranteeing the health rights of the inhabitants of the national territory, especially those under 18 years of age and the non-smoking population, is a commitment of UCundinamarca, Generation 21st Century.
Therefore, our alma mater, through Resolution No. 073 "By means of which the facilities of the University of Cundinamarca are declared as tobacco smoke-free areas", seeks to comply with Law 1335 of 2009, guaranteeing the health of the university community.

Failure to comply with the provisions of internal and external regulations will constitute conduct that will be sanctioned as a disciplinary offense, in accordance with the procedures established in the internal regulations of our alma mater.

Tobacco (cigarettes) produces a physical addiction thanks to nicotine, a substance that generates feelings of euphoria and tranquility that disappear when levels return to normal. Experts say that when this happens, the only way to feel the same effect is to take another dose of nicotine. However, the harmful aspect of cigarettes is not the nicotine itself, but its combustion, since the smoke contains nearly 4,000 chemicals, more than 50 of which are known carcinogens.
Given this difficult situation, quitting smoking is a crucial decision for good health. But it's not an easy task; it requires determination, commitment, and self-love.
