Two of the winners of the "Gastronomic Traditions with Soul, Heart and Environmental Care" contest, held in 2020 among students, officials and people of the municipality of Ubaté, claimed the prize awarded by the Ubaté branch: Places to take the diploma course in Project Management offered by UCundinamarca.
The diploma program is already being attended by Sandra Milena León García and Alfonso Albornoz, while Camila Andrea Arévalo Forigua and Ana Milena Soto are still waiting to begin their training. These types of incentives strengthen professional development and encourage best practices in traditional crafts.
The objective of this activity was “to preserve ancestral knowledge and cultural heritage on non-predatory and non-invasive practices of the environment, which harmonize with the emergence of new technologies to promote inclusive, safe and sustainable human settlements, within the framework of Goal 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities of the Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs of UNESCO,” as explained by Dr. Alejandro Flechas, administrative director of the Ubaté Branch.
The winners of the competition made innovative gastronomic preparations; the qualification criteria were the use of ingredients from the region, presentation of the dish, innovation and originality, order and aesthetics, impact with Sustainable Development Goals and cultural impact.
Taking this into account, the winner was the cubios stew, prepared by Ana Milena Soto and Alfonso Albornoz, in second place, the potato lasagna prepared by Camila Andrea Arévalo Forigua and in third place, the pineapple chicha as a traditional and ancestral probiotic drink made by Sandra Milena León García.
“From the Sembrando Esperanza Cultural Learning Center, we have continued with activities that promote environmental protection and revive traditions,” explained Cateryne Rodríguez Rueda, a professional in the Environmental Area of SGA North Node.
