Ubaté hosted the 5th International Dance Festival for Couples

PROCEDURE: Strengthening cultural and sporting skills and attitudes and making good use of free time.

OBJECT: The V International Dance Festival for couples was organized by the University Welfare Department of the University of Cundinamarca, Ubaté branch, during the days of March 11, 12 and 13, 2019.

IMPORTANCE OF THE FESTIVAL: To strengthen the cultural skills and attitudes in dance of the students of the University and the community of the province, generating a training space with the realization of the workshops in artistic training in dance and as closing of the event the presentation of the different delegations.

The University holds this event with the aim of promoting cultural activity in dance for the inhabitants of the province and positioning the University as a cultural showcase in the region, presenting an international and national dance show by couples at the headquarters, with representatives from different countries of Latin America and Colombia, natives of their country of origin and carrying out artistic training workshops in international dance open to the general public.

This event contributes to the comprehensive education of students by giving them access to different teachers and dance techniques that were showcased in the various training workshops.

ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: Six workshops were held on Monday, March 11th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Tuesday, March 12th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; Wednesday, March 13th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. These workshops had 30 participants from different municipalities in the departments of Santander, Boyacá, Cundinamarca and university students.

The International Couple Dance Festival was presented on Wednesday, March 13th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the participation of two hundred and twenty-six people who enjoyed the different choreographies that showcased the best of Latin American folklore.
