U. launches sports club

The CAD will replace the former CERCUN High Performance Center, which is attached to the Faculty of Sports Sciences and is established as a learning field for the development of the mission functions of UCundinamarca with a focus on training, recreation, sports performance, research, and well-being for the university community, sports community and the community in general.

With the support of the Academic Center, the dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Pedro Nel Quintero Turriago, presented to the public in attendance; journalists, professors from the physical education network of Sumapaz and the university community the “UCUNDINAMARCA SPORTS CLUB” which will benefit the children and young people of the municipality, the region and the Department.

The Sports Club opens its doors in different sports disciplines such as football, skating, basketball, futsal, swimming, athletics, tennis, volleyball and all those that demand the opening of that discipline.

It is worth noting that for the development of sports practices the club has 2 football stadiums, 2 auxiliary football fields, 9 tennis courts, a skating rink, 2 athletics tracks, 3 swimming pools, a coliseum for basketball, volleyball and futsal, 4 alternate basketball courts, 2 alternate volleyball courts, a sand volleyball court, a micro-football field, a multi-strength gym, a physiology laboratory, and an outdoor gym.

During the launch event, the faculty presented the club's institutional image and the uniforms for each sport.
