The UCundinamarca swimming team has demonstrated its sporting excellence by achieving outstanding results in two important national competitions held in Girardot, Cundinamarca.
In the First National Youth and Open Intellectual Swimming Championship, held from April 9 to 13, 2025, athlete Heidy Paola Urrego Mora participated in the Open Intellectual category. Her outstanding performance earned her selection by the disability coach of Indeportes Cundinamarca, Mauricio Moreno Poveda, to represent the department in future national intellectual swimming competitions.
The team's coach, Anyi Lorena Colmenares Galeano, expressed her pride in the achievements and congratulated the team for their dedication and effort. The results obtained in this competition include:
Subsequently, from April 25 to 27, 2025, the team participated in the 2025 Friendship Cup, also in Girardot. In this competition, which included 223 athletes and 22 clubs from different regions of the country, six members of the UCundinamarca swimming club achieved outstanding results:
Coach Colmenares Galeano expressed her gratitude for the constant support of the parents, whose backing has been fundamental to the motivation and success of the athletes in the various competitions.
These achievements reflect the commitment of the University of Cundinamarca to the integral development of its students, promoting sport as a tool for the formation of values and excellence.
The swimming team continues its training in preparation for its next competition, scheduled for May 17 at the Cafam Melgar sports complex in Tolima.
