As part of the Institutional Learning Field (CAI) of the Business Administration program at the Chía extension, this startup was developed where the students of the program revealed, after several stages, their entrepreneurial model.
In the first entrepreneurial event, which for the Business Administration program is called Entrepreneurial Culture, 80 students participated, mostly from the second and third semester, showing their projects among which stand out: rainwater collection systems for people who suffer from water scarcity called “Aqualive”, or “Eco-Brick”, an initiative that seeks to reuse plastic for construction.
“The students have been refining and perfecting their business model based on the ideas they worked on throughout the semester, which is why this last moment becomes the most important of all, since they are finishing defining and detailing each of the basic aspects of their entrepreneurial model, and in the startup they present them to a judging panel,” mentioned Laura Villegas Wagner, teacher of the CAI of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
The students are accompanied during the day by three mentors specializing in entrepreneurship in the Sabana Centro region of Cundinamarca, who have been advising and supporting the students in the final definition of that entrepreneurial model.
“These are very significant spaces for the training of students and particularly for our Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT), because they allow them to experience entrepreneurship in practice, on a daily basis, to experience what it means to build their own business model, to detail and refine their ideas to turn them into viable and profitable models for the regional market,” said Professor Villegas.
“We all have some entrepreneurial spirit in us, since we undertake ventures in different ways, not only by creating businesses, and that is precisely the vision we have at UCundinamarca regarding entrepreneurship. That is why, as a professor in this field of learning, I invite you to be encouraged to undertake ventures in different areas of life and to develop solid, sustainable entrepreneurial models that contribute to our local market,” Villegas added.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that this exercise prepares students for what is to come, which is the second entrepreneurial stage called Entrepreneurship and Innovation II, which they will see in their next semesters, where they will turn their model into an entrepreneurial plan.
