Towards the renewal of the Business Administration Program

The Dean's Office of Administrative, Economic and Accounting Sciences shared the updated program with the educational community.

In the Emilio Sierra Baquero auditorium, Fusagasugá Campus, the Dean's Office of Administrative, Economic and Accounting Sciences shared with the educational community the update, reform and adjustment of the Business Administration program, under the guidelines established in Decree 1075 of 2015 Resolution 2767 of 2003 of the Ministry of National Education and documents on institutional guidelines for curriculum management.

“It was a participatory and coordinated process with the five campuses: Chía, Facatativá, Fusagasugá, Girardot, and Ubaté, where the Business Administration program is located. For over a year, we conducted workshops and working groups with the participation of experts, faculty, students, graduates, program directors and administrators. Through analysis and comparative studies of programs in the country and around the world, a diagnosis of the current curriculum, and the results of the 2016 self-evaluation, we were able to consolidate the proposed update.”, explained Félix Gregorio Rojas Bohórquez, dean of the faculty of Administrative, Economic and Accounting Sciences.

Marlon Jonnatan Rodríguez Gutiérrez, Program Coordinator at the Fusagasugá campus, stated that: “Following the new trends in the discipline at the national and international level, a curriculum renewal was carried out that proposes 160 academic credits, with a duration of nine semesters and a total of 58 thematic units, which focus on leadership skills with training for life, civility and freedom; and on the pillars of innovation, entrepreneurship and research in the organizational management processes.”.

The Administration program adopts the recent guidelines of the Colombian Association of Faculties of Administration (ASCOLFA), in the document specific resolution proposal for the Business Administration programs, in reference to the development of two competencies: directing and managing.
