Human rights: part of professional training?

From April 12th to 17th, the University of Cundinamarca (UCundinamarca) held its annual University Health Week, which focused on disease prevention and home health risks. Participants included Dr. María Eugenia Delgado Méndez, a nutritionist-dietitian specializing in Family and Community Health and an international breastfeeding consultant, who gave a presentation on Healthy Eating – Healthy Body, among other prominent speakers. The event was organized by the University Welfare Office.
Delgado Méndez explained the importance of a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and proteins, combined according to our age, with some physical activity, and in this way, prevent chronic diseases or reduce their effects if they already exist.
For his part, sports instructor Nelson Andrés Ángel pointed out possible exercise routines that can be done from home and recommended aquatic exercise to avoid injuries to muscles and knees.
Among the various activities carried out were conferences on sexual health, cervical cancer prevention, and the importance of preventing accidents in the home, a representative of the fire department emphasized, who, in turn, called on all parents to reduce risks and prevent accidents.
At the end of University Health Week, the conference "Visual Health in Times of Covid" was held, led by Optometrist Héctor Andrade, who explained the care we should take with our vision and how to take care of our visual health.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining good eye hygiene, keeping a considerable distance from screens, and taking other important measures to prevent eye diseases. "We are constantly connected to technology, and it is a source of radiation that affects our visual health," the professional stated, urging everyone to be more aware and take breaks from using these devices.
