Human rights: part of professional training?

UCundinamarca welcomed 2,133 new students to its various campuses with an opening ceremony that invited them to actively participate in research groups and cultural and sports organizations, so that their time at the institution would not only be about obtaining a university degree but also about developing as citizens with ethical, moral, and democratic values.
The University's leadership, headed by the Rector, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, Academic Vice-Rector, Orlando Blanco Zúñiga, Head of the Admissions and Registration Office, Juan Manuel Cruz Banoy, the Director of the University Welfare Department, Margarita Moya González, and the administrative directors of each of the extensions and branches, gave a warm welcome to the new students joining the UCundinamarca family, 21st century generation.

During this induction week, integration activities are carried out, presentation of virtual platforms, information on services offered by the academic support office, in relation to the areas of the library, computer rooms, laboratories and auditoriums, workshop on introduction to university life, presentation of the portfolio of services provided by University Welfare in the areas of culture, sports and recreation, health promotion, socioeconomic programs and safety and health workshops.
263 new students in Soacha
The induction day was successfully carried out at the Soacha Extension, attended by the 263 students to study the first semester; 139 in Industrial Engineering, 89 in Sports Science and Physical Education and 17 in Software Development Technology.
In addition, there was a large turnout at the parents' meeting led by the extension director, Fabio Julio Gil, and the branch's University Welfare Coordinator, Mayra Alejandra Romero. At this event, parents were given important statistics, such as the number of applicants for each program and how their children fared in the selection process.
In Facatativá
The Facatativá extension's orientation day, which welcomed new students to the Systems Engineering, Agronomic Engineering, Public Accounting, Business Administration, and Psychology programs, sparked enthusiasm and satisfaction among the new students. The event was led by the director of the Facatativá extension, Carlos Fernando Gómez Ramírez.
For their part, the university welfare coordinator, Dr. Paola Hincapié, and psychologist Heidy Farfán provided support to the parents, who were summoned on this important day for the process that their children will go through during their training as professionals.
