The event will take place on November 11th at the Facatativá campus. Approximately 100 pets, including dogs and cats, are expected to participate. “With this initiative, we aim to promote civility through the use of beliefs and customs that foster healthy coexistence and peace. To achieve this, it is important to understand the diverse concept of family. Therefore, we want our UCundinamarca students—both our most loyal and furry friends—to be the stars of this day, where we will also celebrate UCundinamarca's 30th anniversary,” stated María Alejandra Bonilla, University Welfare Manager at Facatativá.
As part of this initiative, supported by the University Welfare office of the extension, the animals must be dressed up using recycled material as part of MEDIT and its nature dimension.
It is worth mentioning that the event will be supported by the Kingdom of Cats Foundation, which has rescued more than 5,000 felines. Cevet Veterinary Clinic and the Facatativá Health Department will also be present, speaking about responsible pet ownership and conducting a vaccination and deworming campaign.
Finally, as part of the activity, which will begin at 8:00 a.m. and last until 2:00 p.m., there will be a special award for the winning pets for their best costume, stage performance, and teamwork.
