The second decade of the 21st century has marked such surprising turning points that it has even provoked despair among the population, and apocalyptic scenarios have been drawn in the collective imagination; this is why sowing hope is important to reactivate the enthusiasm for building a promising future.
Hence the relevance of the Cultural Learning Field "Sowing Hope," of the Ubaté Sectional Directorate, which, based on the MEDIT's approach to life skills, democratic values, civility, and freedom, has been working for this year 2023 on a Digital Learning Plan with experiential activities that inspire us to be conscious consumers, preferring organic crops, replacing the use of agrochemicals harmful to health, and instead promoting practices that are more friendly to the planet, understanding that every purchase has an impact on the world—environmental, social, and economic.
In the transition to the institution's virtual classrooms, multimedia materials and face-to-face activities have been produced, with a pedagogical focus so that participants in the CAC Sembrando Esperanza can learn ancestral knowledge and cutting-edge knowledge in favor of environmental care, within the framework of two experiences with their respective phases.
This is about “Developing creative capacity with low-cost technologies”, the first phase of which is aimed at co-creating our home garden with crops useful for typical cuisine from composting. The second phase will focus on the study and development of rainwater harvesting systems. This will be followed by a second project, "Gastronomic Traditions with Soul and Heart for Environmental Care," which will include phases on ancestral knowledge of crafting traditional cuisine and preparing traditional beverages. In this way, it is hoped that seeds will be sown that will germinate into many hopes.
