The presentation of violinist Tatiana Perilla and guitarist León Salcedo from the Music program, Zipaquirá Extension at the III International Music Festival (CIMA) is given by public call within the framework of the development of the research project “Sound Recording and Analytical Description of Selected Latin American Works for Violin and Guitar 20th and 21st Century” of the Udecarte research group.
The event took place at the end of August and aimed to showcase and promote artistic creation, as well as academic and artistic exchange with prominent national and international musicians. The acronym CIMA stands for Ciudad de Manizales and also refers to the hilltop on which the city is located.

It is worth noting that the National Radio station conducted an interview with the two musicians from Udecinos, who gave master classes to the students of the University of Caldas.
Throughout his career, León Salcedo has been a versatile musician, participating as a soloist and as a performer and arranger with various groups in Latin America and the United States, in the genres of classical music, jazz and Latin American popular music.
Salcedo holds a Master's degree in Guitar Performance from Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently a faculty member at the Francisco José de Caldas District University and the University of Cundinamarca, where he is an associate professor of classical guitar and coordinator of the research area. Since 2013, he has been a member of the contemporary guitar quartet.
Tatiana Perilla holds a Master's degree in Music Theory and Research from EAFIT University. A violinist, she graduated from the ISA (Higher Institute of Arts, Havana, Cuba), where she studied with the renowned violinist Evelio Tieles Ferrer.
Perilla belonged to the Batuta de Risaralda children's and youth symphony orchestra for seven years, and also to the Chamber Orchestra of the Technological University of Pereira.
Tatiana has also been a member of the Havana Opera Orchestra (Cuba), the Caldas Chamber Orchestra, the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra (viola), the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Symphony Orchestra (Spain).
Through her research, she has explored contemporary violin music in Colombia, performing national and world premieres and making recordings. She has also participated in various projects related to music theory and artistic creation.
She currently works as a teacher-researcher in the Music program at the University of Cundinamarca and is pursuing doctoral studies in Arts at the University of Antioquia.
“The research project ”Sound Recording and Analytical Description of Selected Latin American Works for Violin and Guitar from the 20th and 21st Centuries’ by the UDECARTE group aims to compile an archive of works for artistic creation, specifically live performances and studio recordings, as well as the dissemination of these products in academic and artistic spaces and other media: radio, internet. A final phase of the project consists of centralizing all the information on a freely accessible website.”, explained Tatiana Perilla, teacher and violinist of the Music program.
