Teacher's Day celebration at UCundinamarca

Our institution joined this celebration with cultural and integration activities, led by the University Welfare Directorate.

The University of Cundinamarca celebrated "Teacher's Day," an important date for our institution, highlighting the valuable function and role of the teacher as a knowledge manager, transformer, collaborator, and contributor to education for life, democratic values, civility, and freedom, which makes the 21st Century Public University possible.

“The professor, together with the students, constitutes the alma mater, the reason for being of the University; therefore, we express our deepest gratitude and admiration, and we value such an important work of education for life.”, Félix Gregorio Rojas Bohórquez, director of University Welfare (FA), expressed this at the opening of the event that paid tribute to the teachers.

The celebration of Teacher's Day was led by the Office of University Welfare at each of the university's extensions, branches, and main campus. At each location, cultural and recreational activities were held, along with workshops focused on making the most of free time and strengthening interpersonal bonds within the institution.

At the Fusagasugá Campus, the celebration took place in the auditorium of the Academic Sports Center (CAD). Teachers gathered to enjoy folk music with a performance by the Yamborí dance group from the University of Cundinamarca, directed by Yesid Mauricio Herrera, the carranguero group from University Welfare, directed by John Alexander Rodríguez Peñuela, and the University Welfare Orchestra, directed by Johan Herbey Lasso Godoy.

Subsequently, the teachers participated in the awareness workshop on the importance of the teaching work led by Juan Camilo Salamanca from the Secretariat of Family and Social Integration of Fusagasugá.

At the Girardot branch, the administrative staff celebrated Teacher's Day with a gala dinner, raffles for recreational centers, performances by cultural groups, and a parade on a party bus through the city's main streets. The various activities focused on strengthening interpersonal relationships among professors as part of the Institution's commitment and appreciation to its faculty, who contribute daily to building the University's history.
