What is a research seedbed?

According to the Agreement 002 of March 2008 By which the Research System is established at the University of Cundinamarca, the Research Seedbeds are defined as: “those groups in which students, under the guidance of research teachers, begin the process leading to the knowledge of the problems that interest them to investigate in their area” and are within the modalities of the Research Groups.

According to the Colombian Network of Research Seedbeds It is “a group of two or more people, linked to an educational institution and who express their intention to function as a seedbed, through a constitution act and the structuring of a development plan.”.

Who makes up a research group?

Research groups must be linked to an institutionally endorsed research group and must be composed of:

  • Leading teacher affiliated with the University of Cundinamarca.
  • Minimum 2 students (no limit on members).
  • Graduates may be involved as trainees, but they can never be the leaders.

Business Administration students who join the Avanza research group will have the opportunity to delve into the research areas of organizational and regional development, organizational and regional studies, entrepreneurship and business development, and business historiography.

The Avanza research group is an opportunity to delve deeper into knowledge without the constraints of a classroom, a place where the aim is to instill in each young person the desire for research in support of collective development, where diverse opinions are valid, immersed in respect and the construction of values.

"It moves towards building a better country, starting from our regional context without neglecting globality," explained María Cristina Velásquez Ardila, Lead Teacher of the Avanza Research Seedbed.

It is worth noting that the Avanza seedbed emerged in 2013 and belongs to the Arado research group, has participated in different research meetings at the national and international level and has been selected three times among the best speakers at the RedColsi International Meeting of Research Seedbeds.
