Human rights: part of professional training?

Three Knowledge and Learning Managers and the Coordinator of the Public Accounting Program at the University of Cundinamarca, Facatativá campus, Cesar Augusto Giraldo, participated in the 55th Assembly 2024 of the Colombian Association of Public Accounting Faculties (ASFACOP), held at the Externado University of Colombia. At the assembly, they presented papers on topics relevant to the training of public accountants in Colombia.
Ángela Yolima Cita Velandia and Andrés David Serrato Guana presented the paper: “Experience of Internationalization as a Training Strategy from the Accounting Discipline. Case of the University of Cundinamarca Facatativá Extension”, in which they highlighted the importance of internationalization in higher education and how this strategy has contributed to the training process in the accounting discipline.
For his part, Mateo Bedoya presented the paper “Features of the theoretical-research training of public accounting master's programs and their effects on national academic production”, where he analyzed the theoretical and research training in Colombian public accounting master's programs and proposed proposals to strengthen research training in public accounting in the country.
Finally, Andrés David Serrato Guana presented the paper “Professional Profile of the Public Accountant in Industry 4.0. An Approach from Digital Competencies”, derived from a work of the Bacatá research group of the University of Cundinamarca, where he identified the main digital competencies that contribute to the professional profile of the public accountant in the current context of industry 4.0.
These presentations reflect the commitment of the University of Cundinamarca to the training of quality public accountants and the constant search to improve education in the accounting field in the country.
The Knowledge and Learning Managers and the Program Coordinator are now preparing to participate in the National Assembly of Accountants on May 15, where they will continue to contribute to the development of the discipline in Colombia.
