Udecino talent at the UCundinamarca song festival

Students from our Institution competed for a spot to represent the University in the Ascún Regional Song Contest, central-western node.

At the Zipaquirá Extension, students from the Soacha, Facatativá, Chía, Zipaquirá, Fusagasugá, Ubaté and Girardot campuses competed for a spot to represent the University at the Ascún Regional Song Meeting, central west node, to be held on September 6 and 7 at our Institution.

The judges of this competition took into account the literary composition, quality of the message, harmony, melody, structure, staging and interpretation ability of the participant, as well as tuning, vocalization, rhythmic precision, among other technical and artistic criteria that the demanding jury took into account for the selection of the students.

“I was very moved to see the musical level of the participants, particularly those from faculties that are not related to music. Today’s winners will do a great job representing the institution,”, Maritza Saavedra Ramírez, teacher, singer and coordinator of the institutional choir, pointed out.

Those responsible for representing the University of Cundinamarca with distinction excelled in several categories. Gustavo Alejandro Martínez from the Chía Extension won in the original song category; Leidi López from the Fusagasugá Campus was recognized as a female soloist; and Johan Sebastián Villamil Molano from the Ubaté Campus won in the male soloist category.

“For me, representing UCundinamarca in these regional competitions is a great surprise because I had already applied on previous occasions, but I hadn't made it. I am very happy to be able to represent my University and my branch,”, said Johan Sebastián Villamil Molano, winner in the male soloist category.

The jury consisted of soprano and soloist Blanca Libia Munar Moyano, maestro, composer and performer Santiago Moya, and Maritza Saavedra Ramírez, a singer from Zipaquirá and graduate of the Music program at UCundinamarca.
